The Ford Edge 2011 has been revealed with a completely new design. Most striking is the new front look keeping intact the idea of a chrome front grill. But there’s also a Ford Edge Sport model with a bigger engine and more power. The Ford Edge will have three engine choices. The previous 3.5-litre V6 engine is still there which produces 285 hp and 318 Nm of torque. The Ford Edge Sport gets a bigger 3.7-litre engine producing 305 hp. Fuel economy is said to be at a very reasonable 8.7 litre/100 km. They both get six-speed automatic transmissions. A retuned suspension gives it better handling. Upgraded braking system consisting of larger rotors and steel pistons gives better braking performance. Adaptive cruise control has also been added. The new improved powertrain reduces engine noise giving it a quieter ride. Exterior features include 18-inch rims as standard whereas the Ford Edge Sport gets 22-inch rims. The Sport also benefits from a black grille, smoked headlamp and tail lights and chrome exhaust tips.

The new 1.2 liter TFSI engine generates 86BHP and a maximum torque of 160Nm in a range of 1500 and 3000 rpm. This 4- cylinder engine sprints the A1 from 0-100kmh in 12.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 179km/h and has been coupled with a 5 speed manual transmission. It burns nearly 5.1 liters of fuel per 100 km, which emits only 119 grams of CO2/km when driven under the EU cycle.

The 1.4 TFSI increases the power to 122BHP with a peak torque 200Nm which is measured between 1500 and 4000 rpm and is coupled with a seven speed S tronic gearbox making the car reach its first 100km/h in just under 9.1 seconds with a top speed of 200km/h. The 1.6 TDi unit being more powerful than the petrol variant produces 105 BHP and a torque of 250 Nm between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, which is coupled with a five-speed manual transmission pushing the car to 100km/h in 10.8 seconds with a top speed of 187km/h. And as there were two diesel engines, the second one delivers 90BHP and a torque of 230 Nm between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm coupled with five-speed manual transmission gearbox accelerating the car from 0-100km/h in 12.2 seconds reaching a top speed of 179km/h and offers an astonishing 3.8litre/100km of fuel economy corresponding to 99 grams of CO2 emission every kilometer.

The 2011 Porsche Cayenne will be offered initially with three engine options: an entry-level 3.6-liter V-6 with 300 horsepower, a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V-8 with 400 horsepower in the Cayenne S and a range-topping twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V-8 with 500 horsepower in the Cayenne Turbo. The Cayenne Diesel will return, packing a new 240 horsepower 3.9-liter V-6 turbodiesel engine. This eco-friendlier Cayenne will be joined by the long-awaited Cayenne S Hybrid, which will combine a supercharged 330 horsepower 3.0-liter gasoline V-6 with a 47 horsepower electric motor running on lithium-ion batteries. Sadly, neither the diesel nor the hybrid will be sold in the U.S. anytime soon and to add insult to injury, overseas models will also benefit from a fuel-saving engine stop-start system. Each Cayenne will be offered with an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard but a low-speed transfer case will no longer be offered, thus making the 2011 Porsche Cayenne strictly an on-road vehicle.Porsche claims its gasoline-powered Cayennes will be on average 23% more fuel-efficient than the current Cayenne range, with the most frugal model being the Cayenne S Hybrid, which will achieve an estimated 28.7 mpg fuel economy rating for the European combined cycle.
